Curb Appeal is Now Web Appeal

Curb Appeal is Now Web Appeal
Home staging, Curb Appeal, Web Appeal, SonjaBush.com

First impressions count, and that goes for Curb Appeal as well.  A prospective home buyer’s first impression of your home now starts with the online photos of both the interior and exterior of your home.

Now, instead of “Curb Appeal, it’s “Web Appeal.”  How well your pictures show online of both the interior and exterior counts more than someone walking up or driving by your home.  Curb appeal will not make a difference if you have poorly shot photos, an unprofessional home walk-through video, or an unstaged home.

In today’s social technological society, buyers make snap judgements within minutes of scanning through the online photos of your listing on their phones or tablets.

Exterior tips:

  • Change mailbox
  • Update house numbers
  • Trim bushes, mow lawn and sweep all walkways and driveways
  • Wash windows
  • Clear patio furniture and clutter like you would the inside if you are staging the home
  • Power wash the exterior of the house
  • Clean up grease spots from the driveway and garage floor

Interior tips:

  • Wash windows (notice a theme here?!)
  • Clear clutter
  • Get home professionally staged
  • Clear countertops
  • Empty and organize closets
  • Put in storage whatever is not needed to show and sell the house
  • Change out faucets
  • Paint the bathrooms and kitchen (a fresh coat of paint can go a long way in selling a home)
