When Is The Best Time to Sell Your Home?

With Fall and Winter right around the corner, you’re probably wondering when the best time to sell your home is.  There are lots of myths about when the best time is, some say Spring, some say Summer.  I say, whenever there are buyers.  Living in a Resort town like Mammoth Lakes, experiencing all the seasons as we do, and all the activities year-round, there are people in and out of Mammoth all the time.

You might think Summer or Spring is the best time to sell, but then you miss out on the Winter Snowbirds here for the skiing season.  After all, we are a resort town!  So just because the “industry” says a certain time of year is better to sell, think about what’s going on in the town around you…is it a seasonal area? Are there activities that draw people in during other times of the year?  Does your property show better in Winter than Summer?  Are you in a ski-in/ski-out only area?

Condominiums and Town Homes sell great any time of year – they are just ready to be moved into.  Vacation properties do well in Spring and Summer, but if it’s in a resort town like Mammoth Lakes, Winter is the time buyers who would consider living here are visiting the area.
